My letter to the Secretary-General of the Compagnons du devoir Jean-Claude Bellanger, who welcomed on Wednesday the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron at the training centre for apprentices in Tours-Nord.
I am pleased with the recognition of the excellent training provided by the Compagnons du devoir et du Tour de France by the President of the French Republic during the opening ceremony of the training centre for apprentices in Tours.
I would have appreciated to join the ceremony but my function as Chair of the Committee on Budgets at the European Parliament holds me back in Strasbourg. The plenary session includes a first vote on the next multiannual financial framework of the European Union. I plan to make sure that the appropriations allocated to “Erasmus Pro” reach the level required. It is also an opportunity to call on the Commission to shape a specific programme promoting the apprenticeship and the professional training.
